Summer Recap

We have been so busy in the Forey household, I have not had a second to blog about what has been happening with us. Our summer was so busy. The twins spent a lot of time with their 4 sets of grandparents. Our babies are so blessed to have 4 grandmothers - Nana (my Mom), Grammy (Sean's Mom) - Nana Holly (my Step-Mom) and Noni (Sean's Step-Mom) and 3 Grandfathers - Papa (my Dad), Pop (Sean's Dad) & Papa Moose (my Mom's boyfriend). So our babies get lots of extra spoiling with so many loving grandparents and we have lots of babysitters! They spent Father's Day weekend with Papa and Nana Holly, an overnight stay with Pop and Noni and many nights with Grammy and Nana this summer. They went swimming on numerous occasions with Hudson and Aunt Steph, Pop and Noni and Mommy and Daddy. They are not afraid of the water at all. That makes for one very pleased Daddy. We are so ready to put them in swimming lessons and are considering enrolling them into a water survival class come this Spring.

Brynlee and Chance are still sleeping through the night, so our household is a peaceful, restful place come 9pm until about 7am. It is so wonderful!!!! They have recently started eating cereal and have taken a little while to adjust. At the beginning, I strictly did cereal and formula, but that quickly changed after I was advised by numerous "experienced" Mommies to put a mashed up banana in to make it taste better. Against all of my "rules", I ended up introducing a fruit looonnnggg before I wanted to. Giving them the cereal with a banana absolutely did the trick. They ate it right up. Especially Brynlee...she is my eater and LOVED the banana. Chance is taking a little bit longer to figure out exactly what to do with it, but he is slowly getting the hang of it. He is not my eater and never has been, so I think that feeding him is going to be a challenge anyway. It is so fun to feed them cereal (I know that might sound crazy) and I am so ready to start introducing more food to them. I am putting that on hold until their 6 month check up and until Chance gets better at it. This weekend, I am going to attempt to make my own applesauce to mix with cereal for a little variety, so wish me luck. I am planning to make all of their baby food or as much of it as I can.

The babies finally had the chance to met their Aunt Tam, Uncle Matt and Cade this summer. For those of you do not know, the Gulley's have been in the Philippines for over 3 years and have not been to the US since the twins were born. They returned to the States full time in June and the twins have had the opportunity to spend some quality time with them on a few occasions since returning. They have been seriously spoiled by Aunt Tam. The twins also meet my dear friend Tim this summer. Tim and I met at church when we were in Junior High and were best friends for years and years. He moved away not too long after Sean and I got married and we lost touch for a couple of years. We reconnected again on Facebook and he is living in New Mexico. He came for a visit in August and we had a chance to catch up. He immediatly fell in love with the twins. It was so great visiting with him and I am so thankful and blessed that we were able to reconnect again!
Some very dear friends of ours welcomed their new baby boy into the world this summer. Charlie and Cynthia welcomed baby Leo in August and we are so excited for the twins to have more friends to play. Congratulations!!!!
Our nephews are growing like weeds and had busy summers themselves. Hudson turned into a little fish over the summer. He LOVES the pool and the beach and is so brave. He came to visit us on numerous occasions and just loves the twins. He kisses all over them and just loves to hold them. He is great at telling each of them apart and says their names so cute. They smile every time they see their big cousin Hudson. Sweet story about Hudson, this past Sunday night at church, we had a worship of praise service. Bryan (my little brother), is one of the song leaders at our church and lead numerous songs this evening at church. At one time, when he was not paying attention to the twins, he was watching every move my brother made. Bryan would turn the page in the song book and Hudson would turn the page in his pretend song book, Bryan blew into his key pipe, and so did Hudson, my brother hummed the first note, Hudson hummed the first note, Bryan moved his arms to lead the song and Hudson did too. It was the cutest thing. I believe we have a future song leader on our hands. hee!hee! Kaylon is growing like crazy as well. He is now walking and climbing, getting into everything. He is getting so big and independent, it is amazing. He will be one this month and time is just flying by. He learning to throw a ball, wave bye-bye and attending Mother's Day Out. We have the most amazing, special nephews anyone could have. We have been so blessed with the joy they have brought to our lives. Be sure to keep up with our sweet nephews by clicking on each of their blogs. Click here: Hudson or Kaylon to check each of them out.
Our summer was so busy, yet very enjoyable. I am looking forward to the Fall and all of the great things we have planned to do with Brynlee and Chance. Pictures of our summer adventures to come!
love to you all!

Awh, thank you so much for including us in your blog. Girl, I can not tell you how much I love your babies (wait, my babies, ha!). They are the most special babies in my life and I miss them even more now that we've met, I've loved on them, and I'm back in Dallas. You tell those little swimmers Aunt Tam will have a pool out back very soon and all of you will have to come up and spend some time with us! Counting down until we can be together again. Hugs and kisses to all of you!
