The wee ones 1st birthday party came and went and I am just now posting about it. Bad Mommy!!! It was a perfect day! We had the most perfect weather. There were over 70 guests in attendance. Sean and I could not believe how blessed we were to have such a wonderful turn out for our babies. My in-laws, Noni and Pop, we gracious (brave) enough to let us host the party at there home and they could not have been better troopers about the whole thing. Over 70 guests all over their house and yard, burgers grilled, children running in and out, blue, red and black decor busting out the seams and the drill sergeant calling out orders for 2 days. They were amazing. Thank you Noni and Pop for EVERYTHING!!!! I planned this party for 6 months and it took 2 days to get ready for it. My Mom helped me all day on Friday decorating and she was more then patient with my every request. Thanks Mom!!!
We had such a great time. My BFF and her family drove in from Dallas, Sean's Aunt and Uncle came from Beaumont and many local friends and family showed to help us celebrate the day!
The wee ones were so blessed with not only gifts, but lots of hugs, kisses and love from everyone!!! There were tons of gifts....it took 2 hours to open all of the gifts. We are going to have to build a new house to fit everything. (Hint, Hint)
So the long anticipated moment..the cakes!!! My step-mom (Nana Holly) did the cakes and she did a FABULOUS job!!! Thank you Nana Holly!!! Everyone talked about the cakes and how precious they were and how great it tasted. The twins...not so much! They were a little overwhelmed by the day and all of the people singing, that they wanted nothing to do with the YUMMY cakes. Chance finally had a meltdown and Brynlee just played with the icing kind of acting grossed out by it. They have never eaten anything like that before, so they were not too sure what to do with it! Oh well!!! Everyone else enjoyed their cakes and they were eaten....believe me!
