Happy 1st Birthday Wee Ones

March 10th was the Wee Ones 1st birthday. Since they were both sick with the stomach flu, we missed celebrating their actual birthday!! I was so sad because I did not even get a picture of them on that day. They both were so fussy and puny, that I decided not to do that to them. Plus Daddy was sick and Mommy was taking care of the whole household. What a chore I might add. Thank goodness I never ended up getting sick and everyone starting feeling better by Thursday. The Wee Ones had their 1 year check up and shots on Thursday. I had to take them myself and it was a long day! Here are the stats and what they are doing:

Blue Wee One:

  • weighs 18lbs. and is 27 in. long (still a little small)

  • wears size 4 diapers and 6-9 month clothes

  • still scooting around everywhere and loves to jump every chance he gets

  • eating very well and is taking the sippy cup pretty good

  • loves milk and is slowly adjusting to the decreased amount of formula

  • smiles all of the time and is very happy

  • says Momma and Dada - waves bye bye some

The pedi is a little concerned about a couple of things regarding Chance. She is wanting me to have some blood work done on him to check his thyroid. She is concerned that he is not growing like he should. He weighs the same as he did at his 9 month appointment, but has grown in length. I asked if she was taking into consideration that my Dad, brother and nephew are a little bit smaller and she says yes, but she also has to take into consideration that Daddy is over 6 feet and 280lbs. So I plan to take him to have his blood work this week and pray that it is nothing more than just the way God made him. She is also concerned about the fact that he is not pulling up and is not even trying to do so. She has suggested that we contact the ECI (Early Childhood Intervention) Department at TCH to have someone take a look at him. She has reassured me that she does not feel that he has any developmental issues, which was my first scare when she mentioned contacting the ECI. She feels that with his laid back personality, he is just content with what he is doing and may need a little boost to get him going. I will admit that I am a little concerned about both issues and have been praying very hard that there is nothing wrong with my sweet boy! Please keep our little man in your daily prayers for the next few weeks as we go through this process!

Pink Wee One stats:

  • weighs 22lbs and is 28 in. long (our big girl)

  • wears size 4 diapers (will soon be wearing size 5) and 18 month clothes

  • she is crawling around everywhere and getting into EVERYTHING

  • eating so well and not real sure about the sippy cup, pushes it off the tray every time

  • is ALWAYS the center of attention. she is a mess

  • waves Bye-Bye, says Momma, Dada, Hi and Uh-Oh

Her appointment went great and she is right on target for everything. Very pleased!! They did have shots (5 each) and it was miserable. I took them by myself this time and it was interesting consoling both of my screaming babies. Everyone was feeling sorry for me and was so nice helping me out. Overall it was an okay visit! Cannot believe that my babies are one!!!!
