Prayers Needed

As I look on blogs that I follow regularly, I came across this story "Praying for Bentley" on one of my favorite blogs Kelly's Korner.  Bentley is a 9 month old little girl that was born with a heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot.  It is a defect that affects the 4 main parts of the heart.  She is scheduled to have open heart surgery on May 20th.  Without this surgery, Bentley could die.  Her heart is not failing, the defect is causing her to suffocate.  If she gets overly excited by crying, her oxygen levels decrease and she could suffocate.  So her parents, Crystal and Ryan, have to pay close attention to her at all times.  When Bentley was born, Crystal nursed her, but later realized that she needed more.  So they put her on formula.  The formula they used caused her to become colic and so the pediatrician suggested that they change formulas.  After trying many formulas, they finally found one that helped her with the colic, but it is a special formula that is extremely expensive.  Some insurance companies will pay for formula this expensive, but their insurance would not.  So they are paying for this formula out their pocket, not to mention the costs of doctor appointments, tests and the upcoming surgery that insurance does not cover.  A wonderful blogger that makes children's clothing and hair bows has created 3 bows in honor of Bentley that are available for public purchase.  All Bentley Bows purchased, half of the proceeds will go to Ryan and Crystal to assist with medical bills.  Brynlee of course has a Bentley bow on the way and will wear it proudly in honor of this sweet little girl.  As many of you know, heart defects is something that touches very deeply in the hearts of my family.  So any way that we can help another family with this struggle, we will do.  Please click on the button "Praying for Bentley" located on the right side of our blog for her full story and to view the Bentley Bows.  They also have some rubber bracelets that say, "I Heart Bentley" available that will go towards her medical bills as well and they can be purchased for $5.  Many people are praying for this little girl and I hope that each and every one of you that read my blog, will join in with me and my family as we pray for this little angel.  Say an extra prayer for her parents and family.  We know as a family first hand, how horrible it is to sit in a hospital waiting room, while your child, nephew, grandson are in the operating room with his chest open and his life in the hands of another human being.  Please say a prayer for the Cardio Thoracic team that will be operating on this little girl.  God answers prayers and we pray that he answers our prayers to heal this little girl.  God is an AWESOME God!!!

Prayers needed for our family as well.  Chance has an echo tomorrow at TCH to double check that his heart murmur has indeed closed and that we are in the clear.  While praying for Bentley, please say a prayer that God has closed this small hole in our baby boy's heart.

love to you all!!!
