Bryan and Steph had an appointment with the Cardiotharacic Surgeon at TCH yesterday to get an idea of howHudson's surgery is going to go. Just to catch up those of you who may just now be joining us, Hudson (my brother's little boy) was born with VSD, (a hole in his heart) and had open heart surgery to have the hole patched back in 2008. Since then, he has had regular check ups every few months. In April of 2009, they found a muscle band growth in his right ventricle that was causing turbulance in the blood flow to his heart and have kept a close eye on it ever since. In Nov. 2009, they decided that it would be in Hudson's best interest to have surgery to remove the band. Yesterday, they met with Dr. Fraser to discuss the details of his surgery and what all is planned to take place. Dr. Fraser will go in and remove the muscle band from the right ventricle, replace the patch on the VSD from the first surgery and repair the leaky Tricuspid valve. The doctor's office will be calling in the next month to arrange Hudson's surgery for sometime early summer. Please keep our sweet Hudson and Bryan and Steph in your prayers. He is such a joy in our lives and this is a very difficult thing to process that he is having to endure such an intensive surgery..again! Please check out their blog for a more detailed report on his upcoming surgery. Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers and I will keep you posted!
