Birthday Project #1

I decided it was finally time for the twins to "work" for their big birthday bashes, so I decided to have them help with a birthday project. HA! Actually it was a practice run to make sure I knew what I was doing and did not burn our house down. I rummaged through all of their tubs of crayons and pulled out all of the broken ones. I had the Wee Ones help me tear the paper off the crayons and break them in half.

Are they not the cutest helpers you've ever seen???

Actually I tore off the paper and broke them in half, while they threw crayons all over the kitchen! HEE!HEE! So the project????
Homemade Crayons
I know I am by far not the first person to ever make these, but I was excited to find the instructions and try it myself.
Items needed....
candy mold - i chose butterflies for Abby Cadabby
broken, old crayons with paper peeled off
cookie sheets

Place broken crayons in mold and fill to the top. You may think it will overflow....but it will not!

Use an old cookie sheet and bake mold at 250 for 15-20 minutes. This is what they will look like when you remove them from the oven. Let them sit and cool off for at least 45 minutes to ensure they have cooled all the way through.

Remove from you mold and whaola...you have butterfly crayons for your little fairies in training!! So easy uh???? It has to be for this household to attempt! HA!

Now go get creative and make your little ones some fun crayons!!!
