Staying Positive and Getting Anxious

Ryan and Aimee were married Oct. 13th. The wedding was so beautiful and tons of fun. After the wedding, I took myself off of all meds and by the grace of God, had a menstrual cycle on my own Thanksgiving Day 2007. Praise God! My body was finally doing things on its own and we were ready to begin trying on our own again. After the holidays, Ryan and Aimee announced that they were pregnant and expecting a baby in October. We were very excited and thought that this was just one more thing to keep us distracted until we decided to start fertility again. We decided to head back to the Endocrinologist at the end of January and talk about possibly preparing ourselves to do an IUI. Dr. Schanek told me to get back on a few meds and so we did. While getting ourselves prepared for the IUI, Bryan and Steph told us about a study that a close friend of theirs' was involved in and thought we might be interested in checking into it. The study was being conducted at the Center of Reproductive Medicine in Clear Lake. The purpose of the study was to research the safety and effectiveness of an experimental drug, not yet approved by the FDA, the Progesterone Vaginal Ring. This is part of the In-vitro treatment of infertile women who do not produce enough progesterone. After looking into the study, being accepted and lots of prayers and discussions, Sean and I decided to get into the study. We felt like it was an opprotunity that we could not pass up. In our mids, we felt like this was the place that God was trying to get us to. We were very excited to get started and very anxious, but knew that it would be a long process to get to the actual IVF. We did a lot of blood work, ultrasounds, testing on the two of us for a number of things and lots and lots of waiting. During the waiting process...we had a lot going on to keep our minds occupied. News of the new baby, Bryan and Steph's wedding in March in Mexico andthe cruise we were all taking to Mexico to be there with them. So the showers/Bachelorette Party planning for Steph began.
