My cousin Laura just posted something very disturbing on her blog about a man who has been posting a blog that he created with pictures he has stolen from other blogs. The photos are of young boys ONLY and are watermarked or copyrighted by the photographers or parents. My blog is covered in photos of my precious children, this is how I journal their life and I have always feared that I would find them on someone else's blog or website. Very frightening and so sad that we cannot even share the joys of our children with others through photos without someone taking advantage of it...in a horrifying way! The website of the stolen images is lixthom.blogspot.com. I have no plans of posting the link to his blog from my blog. I do not want any traffic going to the owner's blog from us where he could possibly target my babies. Please be aware of the pictures you are posting of your children and others. It is amazing how easily someone can access them and use them with the worst of intentions.
Many, many bloggers know about this blog owner and have reported it to Google. Feel free to send Google your own report...I know I plan to!
I have always in the back of my mind had the fear of someone stealing images of the Wee Ones and I plan to add extra security to my blog. May not be 100% effective, but a little extra security is better then none.
